Manufacturing and customisation

Manufacturing process

All products sold on the Variat marketplace are made to order. We work with our manufacturing partners to deliver items from the factory directly to you.

Our manufacturing process involves three stages:

  1. Order submission - New custom orders are usually submitted to the manufacturer next business day. Change of mind requests can be made during this time.
  2. Manufacturing - Time that the manufacturer spends working on the item before it is ready for delivery or pick up. Manufacturing time for an item can be found on the product pages and will be shown in the cart. Order cancellations made during this time will result in the loss of deposit to cover manufacturing costs.
  3. Delivery - An item enters the delivery stage once it is ready for shipping or pick up. Exact shipping cost is calculated at check out.

How long will manufacturing take?

Each product has its estimated manufacturing time listed in the "Made to order" section on its product page. Manufacturing time will also be be shown in the cart upon checkout.

Every item is unique

Many items on the Variat store use natural materials, for example timber, and all are made to order. As a result each item is unique and will feature some minor variation in appearance due to either the material or manufacturer on the day. Please take this into consideration.

Who is manufacturing my order?

Product manufacturers are listed on the product page under "View store information". This information appears below the cart button.

If multiple manufacturers are listed, the manufacturer geographically closest to the delivery destination will usually be used.

What can I customise?

Under the "Product details" section of the product page all customisation options are listed. This may include options not covered by the 3D product configurator. If you are interested in any of these additional options, or even others not mentioned, please contact us directly for a quote.
